What is the Semper Nation Annual National Convention?

The Annual National Convention (ANC for short) is the major convention of the Semper Nation which holds the third weekend in August every year.
It is a major homecoming reunion that holds in Enugu with activities that involve our Alma mater College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu, and is jointly organized by representatives from all the existing chapters and
sets in Nigeria. While the convention is organized by the alumni of our great college, it also has activities that non-alumni can participate in.

What other Semper Nation Conventions exist?

There are conventions today that are organized and hosted by our Semper brothers based in Europe (in June annually) and US based sempers
whose convention is held in the first weekend of August annually.

Who can attend the Semper Nation Annual National Convention?

Alumni and old boys of College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu, their spouses, family and friends can attend.

What kinds of tickets are available?

There are special tickets for Sempers and standard tickets for non-sempers. The special tickets often have limits to the quantity one can buy.
All tickets have early bird rates and late registration rates.

I live outside Nigeria, can I register and attend the Semper Nation Annual National Convention?

Sempers living outside Nigeria can register and attend the Annual National Convention. It is advisable to contact the leadership of your
set organization in Nigeria and your classmates in order to be abreast of information about the Annual National Convention. 
 

Can I transfer my ticket for the Semper Nation Annual National Convention?

Yes, you can transfer your tickets up to 31 June of each year. To transfer your ticket, you will notify the Convention planning committee formally
that you want to transfer your ticket to another delegate, filling out a form here- https://sempernation.org/contact-us/. Alumni tickets (.i.e.
the sempers-only ticket) can only be transferred to an alumni, while a non-semper ticket can be transferred to anyone.

Can I get a refund of my ticket for the Semper Nation Annual National Convention?

Tickets sales are final and non-refundable. Tickets are however transferable to an individual, provided that the ticket is utilized in the year
of purchase. No ticket can be used beyond its year of purchase. 

How do I transfer my ticket?

To transfer your ticket, you will need to notify the Convention planning committee formally by filling out a form here
– https://sempernation.org/contact-us/ . We will ask you to present the original email and proof of registration you received at the time of
registration. Additional information may be requested to complete the transfer. Tickets can only be transferred once.

How do I become part of the Semper Nation Nigeria?

You can join a chapter or a set, then be consistent in paying your membership dues to your chapter or set. To get the best benefits, it is
always advisable to be part of a set organisation, while also being part of a chapter. As we advance in age, chapters get more prominence in
our social and professional life, and so your being part of a chapter complements being part of a set.

Is Semper Nation NG a registered organization?

The Semper Nation Nigeria is fully registered Not-For-Profit and is the umbrella body of all alumni from the College of the Immaculate Conception
(CIC) Enugu all over Nigeria.

What are the projects and initiatives that the Semper Nation NG is involved in?

Our projects and initiatives are transformational, a product of consensus building and collective decision making. We invest and push initiatives
that catalyze academic development in our Alma mater, advancements in teaching for secondary school education, while also focussing on initiatives
that improve the general welfare of members, who we connect with through their local sets and chapters.

What event is the STEM Education Conference & Colloquium and how does it fit into the Annual National Convention Program?

The STEM Education Conference & Colloquium is the flagship daytime event of the Annual National Convention and its focus since inception in 2019
has been to act as a platform to deliberate on secondary education improvement in Nigeria, now with a special focus on how to improve the teaching
of science , technology, engineering and mathematics. It is open to our alumni and the public, including educators, school administrators and
proprietors, planners and policy makers. Delegates must register to attend.

Why do I have to wear my wristbands to gain entry?

Wristbands are issued to all delegates to our conventions, one per event and per person. At the point of physical check-in and registration
for the convention you will be issued the wristbands that will admit you for all the events of the convention. Please ensure that you keep these
safely and don’t lose them. There are specific wristbands for each day and each event, and this information is clearly printed on the wristbands.
Please ensure you secure your wristbands as they cannot be replaced once issued. You also have to ensure that you come to each event with the
wristband for that event.

What are the common wristband snafus to avoid?

We have a 100% zero tolerance for no wristbands. Here are some examples of wristbands No-no’s to avoid
– Wearing a wristband for a morning event to try and gain access to an evening event on the same day/date (and vice versa) = NO Admission
– Wearing only your convention name tag without the correct wrist-band to an event = NO Admission
– Not wearing a wristband at all = NO Admission
– Husband (Semper) wearing a wristband, but spouse is not wearing one = NO Admission to the individual without wristband
– Holding or showing your wristband to the security and not actually wearing it on your wrist = NO Admission
– You’re a non-Semper but wearing a wristband meant for Sempers = NO Admission
– Forgetting your wristband at home or at the hotel = NO Admission
– Wearing a damaged or mutilated wristband = NO Admission

How long is my ticket valid?

All event tickets are valid only in the year of purchase and must be used in the year of purchase.

What financial compliance processes are in place for the Semper Nation Nigeria?

Our governance and compliance processes ensure that the organisation’s books are audited and filed with the regulators annually. The books are

also presented at the annual general meeting of members each year. All funds are transparently accounted for through
